Pecorino cheese Scodellato is obtained with fresh pasteurized sheep’s milk, processed according to traditional methods. It is actually a sweet pecorino, with a delicate, aromatic flavor. The name “scodellato” comes from the shape of the cheese which is actually similar to a soup plate – a “scodella” in Italian.
Tips to taste pecorino cheese scodellato
This pecorino is excellent on its own, or you can accompany it with a drizzle of honey or a fruit jam. You can also pair it with some tuscan cured meats so to prepare the perfect Tuscan board. Actually, its delicate and aromatic taste enhances the flavors of Tuscan Salami or Tuscan Finocchiona. Some olives and a glass of red wine will complete your board. You can also use pecorino cheese scodellato to prepare a tasty Tuscan sandwich. To prepare it, you just need to add a slice of finocchiona and a drop of honey.
